I was at that Syracuse show, and, though it was tough to hear every lick from the fourth row, I thought the band was having a good night. It looked like Tony was smiling for Dylan at certain points, and you could see some subtle hand motions from the keyboard, which I thought was interesting.

I really liked the new (new to me, at least) arrangement of Positively 4th Street. It's quite nice, especially with the harmonica break towards the end.

And, of course, Workingman's Blues #2 was the one I was waiting for, and I was not disappointed, not one bit. It was awesome, seeing him lean in on the microphone and belt "Workingmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan's Blues..."

I agree - the London concert, 15th, I think, was ........ almost very good. But, the band were disappointing, particularly being in search of a a guitarist. Denny lacked inventiveness and just the same - lost his way once or twice, though not many appeared to notice.

THE GOOD NEWS IS:

I've just listened to the Syracuse 8/10 concert and the band, including Denny, as well as Bob, are really cooking. I guess it makes sense to use the European tour as a warm up of the US!

Working Man's Blues #2 is the highlight for me.

I saw him last night in albany ny. The band sounded great. I thought it was Bob Dylan and the boogie woogie band. I wished he had done more of his old stuff. He did do, Don't think twice, Simple twist of fate, Hiway 61 [sounded great] and a few others. His new stuff sounded good and I will be buying a few from itunes. His voice is not what it used to be but I'm glad he is still around.

Yep, know where you are coming from with the last show thing. I am 56 and Bob is 66 and when he recently visited Australia I saw 3 shows with that same feeling of not knowing if it was the last tour I see. Love ya work and thanks for ALL the stuff you have given over time.

Just saw Dylan last night in Quebec city, great concert I must say, 4th row and loving it. Picked up his strat from the start, played 4 songs in a row and went on his keyboard for the rest of the night. Changed most of the endings of all his songs to make them sound more melodious but I'm guessing he was preparing for tonight's performance at Wilfred-Pelletier, Montreal. Part of the jazz fest we have going on every summer. Can't wait to hear the reviews tomorrow in the paper, and my uncle renting on about how he's got 2nd row tickets!!!

I am a rabid, 58 year old, long term fan that was disappointed, to say the least, at the last Toronto concert (my first). No guitar (I understand he had a problem with his arm?) and not much keyboard either. And as you put it so well, the ridiculous octave jumping at the last note of each line drove me nuts. I am really happy to hear he seems to be getting it back together. Maybe worth 'one more' Dylan concert.

I saw the Copenhagen show as well, it was my first and it was great. I can't believe he actually played Desolation and Visions both the same night, two of my favourites. And yes, it most definately was bob on the organ.

Hi
I agree with most of what you say. I saw him Glasgow last month and thought the singing was great, but I thought the band worked really well. I actually prefer the sound than the Love and Theft line up, but I think its just an aesthertic preference.
One thing i wanted to ask though was whether it was definately Bob getting that organ sound. I was quite far away from the stage in Glasgow but thought there was maybe another guy on a keyboard type instrument, but i could be wrong. if it was Bob, it was pretty impressive!!
